Global Editor

Overview

  • The global editor is used to change item fields in bulk by choosing all records or filtering to a smaller selection
  • Up to 3 filters can be used at a time
  • Depending on the field -> the criteria able to be changed will differ
  • Fields changed can be selected from a predefined dropdown list
    NOTE: Specific fields should usually not be changed this way and can cause errors. EX: Single Unit SKU
  • Any changes will need to be committed by clicking the “Perform Edit” button in the bottom-right corner

Using Global Editor

    1. Open the global editor
    2. Change this field -> dropdown to select field wish to edit
    3. To -> what field will be edited to (leave blank for null)
      1. Input field
      2. Dropdown
      3. True/False
    4. In all records -> Click the checkbox if the change will apply to all
    5. To use filters, begin at: In records where
      1. Dropdown 1
        1. chooses the category for the filter
        2. As shown in the columns in the table below
    • The dropdown list is sorted alphabetically
    1. Dropdown 2
      1. Conditional
      2. EX: Equals, Less than, Is empty, begins with…
    2. Textbox 3
      1. Box that allows keyboard input
      2. *Not case sensitive*
    • NOTE: Can also be a True/False button
    1. Use the second and third rows if using multiple filters
    2. Click “Preform Edit” to save changes (bottom-right corner)

    • Price 1-10 (if price levels are active)
    • Custom Fields 1-5

    • Conditionals (Varies based on initial category)

      • Doesn’t Equal
      • Greater Than
      • Greater Than or Equal To
      • Less Than or Equal To
      • Begins With
      • Includes
      • Doesn’t Include
      • Is Empty
    • Criteria
      • Imputed by the user with standard characters
      • Can also be true/false buttons that need to be selected

Tips and Tricks

  • The global editor is best used for changing between Yes/No options.
    • EX: Discontinued items or Taxable items.
  • To clear out the current filters select a field and highlight everything, then backspace/delete.
  • Single Unit SKU is used if SKU is a lot and 1 piece of the lot has an individual SKU.
