Install a New Version of Stone Edge and use an Existing Store File

Overview

Follow the instructions for Installing SEOM.

MS Access Store File

  1. If you are installing SEOM on a brand new PC, copy the data file (e.g. Ajax Orders.mdb) from the old computer to the new one and save it in the c:\StoneEdge directory or the shared folder, if you are using a networked installation of the program.
  2. When the Set up a new store now? dialog box opens, click No.
  3. When prompted, click Browse, navigate to the c:\StoneEdge directory (or shared folder) and select the appropriate data file.
  4. You see a message box stating that your store has been opened. Click OK.

SQL Store File

  1. If you are installing SEOM on a brand new PC, create an ODBC connection to the existing SQL store data file through the Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Data Sources. If the PC is a 64-bit machine, you must use the Data Sources for 32-bit applications. Refer to the topic Windows 64-bit OS Considerations for more information.
  2. Launch SEOM and open the store data file using the DSN you created in the previous step.
