Change Tracking Links

Overview

  • From time to time shipping carriers change the location of their package tracking systems.
  • When this occurs, you must manually update the tracking link information stored in the program.
    • Stone Edge version 7.7xx or newer must be changed in one location.
    • Stone Edge version 7.0xx or older must be changed in two locations.

Update Tracking URL on 7.7xx and Newer

  1. Navigate to Settings > Shipping Functions > Shipping Setup.
  2. When shipping Settings opens navigate to Tracking Options.
  3. Select the shipper whose information you wish to update.
  4. Select the email template you wish to use to send tracking information to customers.
  5. See the table below for updated tracking prefixes and suffixes needed for each carrier. These will be copied into the boxes in the tracking options screen.
  6. Once Information is updated click Save at the bottom of the screen. Then close out of Shipping Setup.

Updating Tracking URL on 7.0xx or Older Versions of Stone Edge

  1. First, update the appropriate system parameter that contains the tracking prefix of the affected carrier with the new URL. The current values are as follows:

  1. Secondly, open the Store Setup Wizard and navigate to the Shipping section, Page 2, and click Carriers & their Shipping Methods.
  2. Select the affected vendor in the Carriers list in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. The lower portion of the screen that houses the tracking link information is populated with the information related to the selected carrier.
  3. Then enter the new tracking link information in the Track Button Prefix field. The suffix field is not used by the four major carriers that are predefined in the program (USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL) and should be left blank.
  4. Select Save to update the program with the new information.
