4.1 About Importing Product Data

All Inventory items must be present and identical in both the shopping cart and the Order Manager before starting work with Sub-SKUs. We recommend you to create products (and their attributes) in Miva Merchant and then download your product data to the Order Manager.

Before import, please check the following details:

  1. Important: Your data must be backed up. There are a number of options offered during the Inventory import including overwriting the existing information.

If you are not satisfied with the way the Sub-SKUs are built, it is easier to restore your backup than to delete all of the newly created Sub-SKUs.

Read more in Backup Data Files.

  1. The Export Module must be installed in your Miva Merchant.

See 5.2 Verifying If The Export Module is Installed in Miva Merchant.

  1. The connection settings to Miva shop must be properly defined in the Order Manager. The shopping cart setting must contain the correct URL to the module.

See Setting Up a Miva Merchant Shopping Cart.

  1. A number of System Parameters must be defined to integrate the Order Manager with your Miva Merchant shopping cart.

See Miva Merchant System Parameters.

  1. Inventory-related system parameters in Order Manager must be defined.

See 5.3 Setting Up Inventory Tracking in Order Manager.

After you have completed the steps above, you can import the products from your Miva cart to the Order Manager. See 5.4 Importing Products Into Order Manager.

After you have imported the products into Order Manager, you can fulfill the following steps:

  1. Define Sub-SKU parameters and build Sub-SKUs.

  2. Define quantities for each Sub-SKU.

  3. Synchronize your inventory with Miva shop.

  4. Now you can receive orders.

Notice: Miva cart users who need to synchronize inventory counts between the Order Manager and Miva cart must ensure that the shopping cart and the Order Manager have an accurate initial count and occasionally monitor the quantity counts in both places to ensure the two are in sync. If they are not in sync, the user should take steps to re-synchronize inventory.
