7.1 About Inventory Synchronization

After you define your initial inventory quantities in Order Manager (see Defining Sub-SKU Quantities), you can proceed to synchronizing Inventory with your Miva shop. In this case, you need to use the Manual Send function. Read more in Synchronizing Inventory Using Manual Get/Send Function.

After you have synchronized the products, you can receive orders.

Real-Time Synchronization

If you have real-time Inventory tracking enabled, then each time an item's QOH count is changed for any reason (e.g. filling a backorder, placing a phone order, receiving a purchase order, or importing orders from your shopping cart), the Inventory level between your Miva cart store and the Order Manager is updated. The Order Manager can update your Miva store whenever an Inventory level changes in the Order Manager. For example, if you receive new Inventory or enter an order manually into the Order Manager, the increase or decrease in quantity on hand can be seen in your store within seconds. See Real-Time Inventory Tracking.

Periodical Synchronization

Even if you use the real-time synchronization function, over time, it is possible that sporadic errors or delays in transmission will cause the count of your products on your website to be different from the Order Manager’s count. Inventory counts synchronization must be fulfilled in any case if the quantity counts are not in sync.

Additionally, performing certain tasks such as importing Inventory from your website alters the QOH count of products in the Order Manager. QOH counts should be monitored frequently during early deployment of the QOH synchronization system and at regular intervals thereafter.

Note: No more than a week is advisable.
