Use the Alternate Barcodes & SKUs tab to create, view, and edit any alternate barcodes or SKUs associated with a given product. The Inventory screen can be accessed from the Main Menu of the Order Manager.
This feature is helpful when the same product is sold at various Web sites using different barcodes or SKUs at each location. By entering all of the different SKUs that are used at various web sites (shopping carts) into the Alternate Barcodes & SKUs tab for the given product, the Order Manager can recognize orders for those Web SKUs and translate them into the Primary product SKU as orders are imported. (LocalSKU)
Likewise, if the same item is purchased from multiple suppliers and each supplier uses a different barcode for the item, each of the supplier barcodes can be entered on the Alternate Barcodes & SKUs tab of the given product record. When the various supplier barcodes are scanned, the Order Manager will recognize each of them as the Primary product (LocalSKU).
Alternate SKUs cannot be selected as line items when placing a Manual Order or when revising line items on orders.

this box will contain any alternate barcodes that have been defined for the selected product

select an entry in the Alternate Barcodes list and click the Delete button to disassociate the chosen barcode from the current product record
this box will contain a list of any Alternate SKUs that have been associated with the current product record
click this button to open a dialog box where an Alternate SKU can be defined; click the [OK] button to associate the new Alternate SKU with the current product record
select an entry in the list and click this button to remove the chosen Alternate SKU from the list and disassociate it from the current product record
if the current product record is taking the place of another SKU that is no longer available or discontinued, enter the SKU that is being retired into this field
click this button to use the Search Inventory/Select a Product screen to locate the SKU that is being retired
Navigate to the inventory record of the product that will have an Alternate Barcode or SKU assigned to it.
Click on the [Alternate Barcodes & SKUs] tab.
To enter an alternate barcode:
scan the alternate barcode
enter [A] in the input field of the Which barcode was just scanned? screen

click [OK] and the numbers that make up that barcode will be listed in the Alternate Barcodes list box
To enter an alternate SKU:
click the [Add] button next to the Alternate SKU list box
enter the alternate SKU in the text field when prompted by the program

click [OK] to have the new alternate SKU associated with the current product record; it will now appear in the Alternate SKUs list box
Navigate to the inventory record of the SKU that will replace another discontinued or unavailable product SKU.
Click on the [Alternate Barcodes & SKUs] tab.
Click the [Edit] button in the upper right-hand corner of the Inventory screen to unlock the field.
Enter the replacement SKU by one of two ways:
Type in the SKU of the product that it replaces in the Replaces this old SKU field.
Use the [Browse] button to open the Search Inventory/Select a Product screen and locate the SKU that will replace the existing inventory item. Then select the desired item from the search results list of the Search Inventory screen and then click the button labeled [OK - Use Selected Item]. The discontinued or unavailable item's SKU appears in the Replaces this old SKU field.

Click the [Save] button to retain the change.
