Overview

This screen is used to create a new store file or select a different, existing Monsoon Order Manager store database.

Description of the screen

Store Name

enter a friendly name for the store data file

Specify the SQL Server Instance

enter the name of the instance of SQL Server in which you want to create or select a database

Find Servers

a best practice is to know the name of the instance before attempting to create a new store file rather than using this link
select this link to search for SQL Servers if you do not know the instance name
use with caution - this may take a while

Use SQL Authentication (Optional)

select this box if you wish to use SQL credentials to authenticate users
this is not a recommended practice, Windows authentication is preferable

Username

enter credentials for the SQL Server
required if Use SQL Authentication is selected

Password (Optional)

enter the corresponding password for the Username
required if Use SQL Authentication is selected

Show

select this box to see the clear data when entering the password, otherwise the program masks the data with asterisks

Verify Connection

select this button to verify the connection to the specified SQL Server

New Database Name

if creating a new store file, enter a name for the new store data file

Create New Database

select this button to create a new store data file after all of the required fields in the top of the form are filled out

Select Existing Database

after entering the name of the SQL Server Instance at the top of the screen, choose a database from this drop-down list
if there are no databases in the list, select the Find Databases link to populate the drop-down list

Find Databases

if there are no databases in the drop-down list, select this link to populate the list of databases in the specified SQL Server
you must have entered a name in Specify the SQL Server Instance field
first, select Verify Connection to make sure you are able to access the SQL Server

Verify Database

select this to verify the connection to the database

Save

select this to make your changes permanent
