If a workstation has a PC modem (Windows compatible) installed, the Order Manager can dial customer or supplier phone numbers by the click of a button at selected screens. This feature uses the Microsoft Phone Dialer feature that is included with most versions of Windows.
A Windows-compatible modem and its drivers must be installed in the workstation.
A telephone compatible with the modem must be plugged into the correct port on the modem (line out).
The modem must be connected to the wall jack of the telephone line (line in).
Microsoft Windows must be properly configured:
Go to the Windows Control Panel. Open the Phone and Modem Options.
Make sure that the area code, dialing rules, etc. are configured properly for your environment.

In the Order Manager, go to the Set System Parameters screen . Select the Communications parameter group. Configure the following parameters as appropriate for your environment:

DialUse1Prefix
UseDialingRules
Dial9
Click in a phone number field on the View Orders, View Customers or View Suppliers screens.
Click the small telephone icon, , which causes the phone number to be dialed.
The Microsoft Phone Dialer dialog opens and displays the status of the call.
Use the telephone handset attached to the workstation to communicate with the other party.
