The Carriers & Shipping Methods screen is accessed via File>Setup>Shipping>Configure Shipping Methods>Create Other Carriers and Shipping Methods.
This is where non-standard shipping carriers are added to the system (other than the major carriers which are pre-defined in the program). The carrier's shipping method names are also defined here.
Select one of the shipping carriers in the list to see their shipping method names in the Shipping Methods section of the screen.

Standard carriers, DHL, FedEx, UPS, and USPS are pre-defined in the program
the grid is comprised of two columns:
Code - the abbreviation the program recognizes as the carrier
Carrier - the full name of the shipping carrier
when a shipper is selected from the Carriers section of the screen, this section of the screen displays a list of their shipping methods
the grid is comprised of two columns:
Method - the name the carrier assigns to a given delivery method, such as First Class Mail, for USPS shipments
Code - the code the carrier assigns to a given delivery method, such as FIRST, which is the code used by the USPS for the shipping method, First Class Mail
selecting one of the Add buttons allows you to enter a new carrier or new shipping methods for the selected carrier
enter the appropriate information in the text fields
select a carrier or shipping method from one of the lists
selecting one of the Edit buttons allows you to change the selected carrier or shipping method name, depending on the location from which it is opened
it is not possible to change the code abbreviations for the carriers which are pre-defined in the program, however, the name specified in the Carrier field for non-standard carriers can be changed
select a carrier or shipping method from one of the lists
selecting one of the Delete buttons causes the program to prompt for confirmation before the carrier and /or shipping methods are removed from the system
only entries added by the user can be deleted; it is not possible to delete the pre-defined shipping carriers or their shipping methods
make a selection in the Carriers list to see its Track Button Prefix
this field is automatically populated with the correct information for the standard shipping carriers, however, they may occasionally change this value and you will have to alter the information in this field to match the new prefix for the carrier's tracking system
if non-standard carriers are defined the carrier must provide this information, if they provide a package tracking service, and you must manually enter it here
be sure to choose a carrier from the Carriers list before adding information in Track Button Prefix
make a selection from Carriers before making changes to this field
this field is intentionally blank for the standard shipping carriers as they do not require a suffix
if a non-standard carrier is defined and its tracking system requires a suffix, obtain the value from the carrier and manually enter it here
occasionally, carriers may change this value and you will have to update the information in this field to match
be sure to choose a carrier from the Carriers list before adding information in Track Button Suffix
