Overview

If for any reason you cannot complete the packing of a given order immediately, you have the option to set the box aside and retrieve it later. You cannot use this feature once all items in the order are packed.

Procedure

  1. Load an order by double-clicking in a cell in the OM Order # column or by scanning the barcode on a packing slip (requires system parameter ShowBarcodesOnPackingSlips set to TRUE).

  1. When the order is opened in the Pack & Ship screen, the Packer field is automatically set to the name of the user currently logged into the Fulfillment Manager, if PackingSetToCurrentUser = TRUE. Otherwise, select the Packer.

  2. If necessary, make adjustments to the shipping information fields on the right side of the screen, such as the Shipping Method or packaging.

  1. Items can be packed by any of the following methods:

    1. Double-click in the SKU column. If more the quantity is greater than one, use the + and - buttons to change the value, and select Pack Item. Repeat for all items in the order.

    2. Select Pack All to mark all items as packed at once.

    3. Scan each item's barcode.

If PackingShowImages = TRUE, the packer is shown the image of the product and must respond OK to confirm the correct item is being packed. This does not apply if Pack All is selected. If the item has Use Serial #s selected, the packer must enter the serial number and select Save.

  1. After packing at least one item, select Set Box Aside.

  1. You are prompted to enter a Bin ID where the box for the set-aside order is placed temporarily. The name you enter is an arbitrary value which is later used to retrieve the order information at this screen, so you may want to make a note of it.

  1. Select Save and proceed packing other orders.

  2. When you are ready to finish packing the set-aside order, select Retrieve Set Aside Order, enter the Bin ID, and select OK.

  1. Pack the remaining unpacked items in the order, and re-scan the packing slip or select OK post the packing and shipping data.

  2. Select Print Shipping Label and the shipping information is sent to the integrated shipping carriers interface and the label is printed.

  3. Affix the label to the box and you are done!
