Troubleshooting Integration with osCommerce

Refer to the following chart to troubleshoot your Order Manager - osCommerce integration.

Problem

Solution

When I import orders, inventory, or synchronize QOH, Order Manager tells me my username/password are invalid.

In the Shopping Cart Setup form, make sure you entered the correct username and password for your osCommerce store. For Milestone 2 stores, this is your MySQL database username and password. For CRELoaded stores, this is your administrator e-mail address and password. For ZenCart, this is your administrative username and password.

When importing orders or inventory, I receive the following error message: "XML Error: No tags found in this download! Cannot continue."

Use the Shopping Cart Setup form’s "Test" button to test the script URL. If this test fails, double-check the settings for your shopping cart. If the test passes and returns a response similar to "Test passed: Version = 1.81", contact Stone Edge Technologies technical support.

Some of my products are not appearing in Order Manager after I download inventory.

Order Manager saves XML files generated by the import script to your Archives directory (usually C:\StoneEdge\DataArchives). Open a recent XML file in a text editor, e.g. Wordpad, and verify whether your products are simply missing from the downloaded files or have been incorrectly imported in the Order Manager. Oftentimes, two products will have the same "Model" in osCommerce (the "Code" tag in your XML files). The Order Manager imports both occurrences of this product as the same local SKU, and since only one local SKU is allowed, the second occurrence overwrites the first. Contact Stone Edge Technologies if you are certain a product listed on your osCommerce store is not present in any of your downloaded XML files.

My orders are missing credit card data or I see "Payment type=unknown" under "Reasons for Review" on the View Orders screen.

The problem may be a result of the fact that the import script does not recognize a method of payment used at your website and sends the name of the payment method used as a generic payment. The Order Manager then tries to interpret this but fails because the payment method used at checkout does not exist in Order Manager. Create a payment method in the Order Manager that matches the name of the payment method sent by the shopping cart (Payment Methods form on the Maintenance Menu> Maintenance tab). Delete the order from Order Manager and re-import the order.

The onIy credit card gateway supported by Stone Edge Technologies, Inc. and the Order Manager is Authorize.net. Make sure that the payment module supplied by Stone Edge Technologies, Inc. is installed correctly in the shopping cart. See Knowledge Base page Authorize.net Payment Module for osCommerce Carts for additional information.

Users of the PayPal contribution for osCommerce carts should refer to the osCommerce community forums for assistance.
