Your first option is to select <strong>Do not ship to this customer<\/strong> on their customer record, which tells <span style=\"font-size: small;\">SEOM<\/span>\u00a0not to automatically approve orders from that customer. This method is limited by the program&#8217;s ability to &#8220;match&#8221; an incoming order with the &#8220;flagged&#8221; customer record. Refer to\u00a0<i>Matching New Records to Existing Customers<\/i>\u00a0for more information.<\/li>\n<li class=\"CopyofBulletedList\">Creating a\u00a0<strong>Do Not Ship To List<\/strong>\u00a0via the\u00a0<i>List Maintenance<\/i>\u00a0feature gives you more control over screening orders from problem customers because you can build lists of email addresses, telephone numbers and\/or IP (Internet Protocol) addresses\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: small;\">SEOM <\/span>should check as the order is imported. You can then use an\u00a0<strong>Approval Rule<\/strong>\u00a0to tell the program what to do when it detects an order from an entry in the list or lists.<\/li>\n<li class=\"CopyofBulletedList\">Approval Rules are applied by the program as orders are imported, therefore they do not affect Manual Orders and Point-of-Sale (POS) orders.<\/li>\n<li class=\"CopyofBulletedList\">To avoid problems with telephone number formatting, the program strips leading 1&#8217;s off of the numbers, then removes everything but numerals and letters.<\/li>\n<li class=\"CopyofBulletedList\">The program looks for the IP Address anywhere within the IP text received from your shopping cart because some shopping cart systems do not provide IP numbers only. For example, if you add the IP address 111.222.333.444 to the list and the IP text received from the shopping cart is &#8220;IP Address:111.222.333.444, Host Name:adsl-11-22-33-44-55.dsl.pacbell.net&#8221;, the program flags that order because 111.222.333.444 is found within the IP text.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Building a Customer Do Not Ship To List<\/b><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"p\">Go\u00a0<strong>Main Menu &gt; Settings &gt; Data Functions &gt; List Maintenance<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p\">The\u00a0<strong>List Maintenance<\/strong>\u00a0dialogue box opens.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1124\" src=\"https:\/\/stoneedge.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/settingsdatafunctionslistmaintenance.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"579\" height=\"371\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stoneedge.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/settingsdatafunctionslistmaintenance.jpg 579w, https:\/\/stoneedge.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/settingsdatafunctionslistmaintenance-300x192.jpg 300w, https:\/\/stoneedge.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/settingsdatafunctionslistmaintenance-50x32.jpg 50w, https:\/\/stoneedge.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/settingsdatafunctionslistmaintenance-60x38.jpg 60w, https:\/\/stoneedge.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/settingsdatafunctionslistmaintenance-100x64.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 579px) 100vw, 579px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><i>List Maintenance screen<\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li class=\"p\">Select\u00a0<strong>Do Not Ship To Emails<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Do Not Ship to IP Numbers<\/strong>, or\u00a0<strong>Do Not Ship to Phones<\/strong>\u00a0from\u00a0<strong>Select List<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p\">Enter the\u00a0<strong>Email Address<\/strong>, <strong>the\u00a0IP #<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>Phone Number <\/strong>in the text field at the bottom of the page. For example, 221.68.00.01, techwriter@stoneedge.com, or (610) 994-3699.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p\">Type in the value and click\u00a0<strong>Save\u00a0<\/strong>(or press\u00a0<strong>Enter\u00a0<\/strong>twice) to add your entry to the list. Doing so returns the cursor to the text field where you can continue adding entries.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li class=\"p\">Repeat steps 4 and 5 as often as necessary.\u00a0<strong>Note<\/strong>:\u00a0To delete an entry in the list, select it in\u00a0<strong>List Entries<\/strong>\u00a0and click\u00a0<strong>Remove<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><b>Creating an Approval Rule<\/b><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"p\">Go\u00a0<strong>Main Menu &gt; Settings &gt; Order Functions &gt; Approval Rules<\/strong>. The\u00a0<strong>Order Approval Rules<\/strong>\u00a0dialog box opens.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p\">Click\u00a0<strong>New<\/strong>.
