  • Allows credit card transactions using terminal directly through a direct connection<\/li>\n
  • Requires eMerchant\/NMI account.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Setup<\/h2>\n

    Physical Hardware<\/h4>\n
      \n
    1. Terminal will be provided by NMI.<\/li>\n
    2. Use provided cord to connect to an ethernet connection and power source.<\/li>\n
    3. Device will connect to internet and install updates if needed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      NOTE: The device does not need to physically connect to any PC.<\/p>\n

      Stone Edge<\/h4>\n
        \n
      1. Main Menu -> Settings -> System Functions -> Set System Parameters<\/li>\n
      2. Set the following system parameters:\n
          \n
        1. NMIEMVSecurityKey -> Provided by NMI<\/li>\n
        2. NMIPOSSecurityKey -> Provided by NMI (typically the same as above)<\/li>\n
        3. CreditCardProcessorPOS -> NMIGateway<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
        4. Main Menu -> Settings -> System Functions -> EMV Setup<\/li>\n
        5. Register Device:\n
            \n
          1. API Key -> populated from parameters<\/li>\n
          2. Rotating Code -> provided by terminal<\/li>\n
          3. Device Nickname -> Something unique to recognize the connection<\/li>\n
          4. Computer Name -> populated using computer name<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
          5. Click \u201cRegister\u201d.<\/li>\n
          6. The terminal will be updated with the device nickname signaling a successful connection.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Alternatively, device setup can be done in the Point-of-Sale Setup (not recommended)<\/p>\n

            1. Main Menu -> Settings -> Order Functions -> Point-of-Sale Setup<\/li>\n
            2. Pin Pad -> Edit (top right)<\/li>\n
            3. Toggle to enable pin pad use and change pin pad model to Lane3600.<\/li>\n
            4. Click \u201cAdd New Device\u201d.<\/li>\n
            5. Follow prompts to add rotating code and nickname.<\/li>\n
            6. Device list will be updated
              \nNOTE: To see existing POS devices click the refresh button.<\/li>\n
            7. Click \u201cSave\u201d.<\/li>\n
            8. Clicking the entry in the Device List will populate the data below.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              POS<\/h2>\n

              1. Create a POS order like normal.<\/li>\n
              2. Click EMV when payment is due.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                1. Wait for terminal to update with total due.<\/li>\n
                2. Have customer pay with credit card\/digital wallet.<\/li>\n
                3. Stone Edge will be updated with message of successful transaction.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                  1. Standard POS process will proceed allowing next customer to be serviced.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                    Returns<\/h3>\n

                    Credit can be issued against the original charge on the POS and view orders screens.<\/p>\n

                    Reconfiguring Terminal<\/h3>\n

                    Sometimes the terminal may need to be paired with a different computer.<\/p>\n

                    1. Navigate to EMV Setup screen (Settings -> System Functions)<\/li>\n
                    2. Click dropdown next to POI Device ID to find specific terminal.<\/li>\n
                    3. Click \u201cDelete\u201d button.<\/li>\n
                    4. A notification will be shown confirming terminal has been removed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                      1. Entry will be removed from list, and terminal will now show rotating code instead of device nickname.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                        FAQ<\/h2>\n

                        Q: Can I do multiple payments?<\/p>\n

                        A: Have the customer pay with the other payment method, then use the EMV terminal for the remainder. Using 2 credit cards is not possible as this time.<\/p>\n

                        Q: What if a customer no longer wants to pay with card after I clicked EMV?<\/p>\n

                        A: Have the customer click the red X button on the terminal to cancel the transaction.<\/p>\n

                        Q: I\u2019m getting an error during setup!<\/p>\n

                        A: Make sure the rotating code is correctly entered.<\/p>\n

                        Q: The pin pad isn\u2019t responding!<\/p>\n
