{"id":353,"date":"2019-04-04T16:10:21","date_gmt":"2019-04-04T16:10:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stoneedge.com\/kb\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=353"},"modified":"2024-07-29T17:32:49","modified_gmt":"2024-07-29T17:32:49","slug":"add-a-shipping-method","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/stoneedge.com\/kb\/articles\/add-a-shipping-method\/","title":{"rendered":"Add a Shipping Method"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Overview<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"CopyofBulletedList\">This topic provides instructions for adding a shipping method in\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: small;\">SEOM<\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to Add a Shipping Method<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to the\u00a0<strong><i>Main Menu&gt;Settings&gt;Shipping Functions&gt;Shipping Setup<\/i><\/strong><i>,<\/i>\u00a0which opens\u00a0the third page of the\u00a0<i>Shipping<\/i>\u00a0section of the\u00a0<i>Store Setup Wizard.<\/i><\/li>\n<li>Click on the\u00a0<strong>UPS<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>FedEx<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>USPS<\/strong>, or\u00a0<strong>Other\u00a0<\/strong>button, depending on the carrier or carriers that you use.<\/li>\n<li>The program will pre-populate the screen\u00a0with a list of the carrier&#8217;s valid shipping methods, identified by the\u00a0<strong>Carrier&#8217;s Name\u00a0<\/strong>field.<\/li>\n<li>Scroll to a shipping method that you want to use and check the\u00a0<strong>Use This Method<\/strong> box to enable the entry. If you will be using all of the carrier&#8217;s methods, click the [<strong>Select\u00a0All<\/strong>]\u00a0button. To stop using all of a carrier&#8217;s shipping methods, click the\u00a0[<strong>Clear All<\/strong>]\u00a0button.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the shipping method name that is used by the shopping cart or carts in the <strong>Your Name<\/strong> field. If you have multiple shopping carts and they use different names for the same carrier shipping method name, click the <strong>Plus<\/strong> button <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1428\" src=\"https:\/\/stoneedge.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/plussigntoexpandshippingmethods.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"19\" height=\"18\" \/> next to the Carrier&#8217;s shipping method to create another entry with a different\u00a0<strong>Your Name<\/strong>\u00a0value.<\/li>\n<li>If the program should use the Carrier&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Real-Time Rates<\/strong>\u00a0information, check the box of the same name. To enable\u00a0<strong>Real-Time Rates<\/strong>\u00a0for all of the carrier&#8217;s shipping method, click the\u00a0[<strong>Set<\/strong> <strong>All<\/strong>]\u00a0button. To stop using\u00a0Real-Time Rates\u00a0for all of the carrier&#8217;s shipping methods, click the\u00a0[<strong>Clear All<\/strong>]\u00a0button.<\/li>\n<li>If an email is sent to the customer when an order is approved, select the email template to be used from the\u00a0<strong>Approval Email Template<\/strong>\u00a0drop-down list.<\/li>\n<li>Optionally, an email can be sent when the Ship Date has been set for an order. If you have the program configured to do so, select the appropriate email template from the\u00a0<strong>Ship Date Set Email Template<\/strong>\u00a0drop-down list.<\/li>\n<li>If the program has been configured to export an approved order&#8217;s data to a text file, select it from the\u00a0<strong>Export Template<\/strong>\u00a0drop-down list. It is only necessary to make a selection in this field if the user has created\u00a0<i>Shipping Export Templates<\/i>\u00a0to export shipping information from orders using a particular shipping method. This process normally only used when the merchant uses an external shipping application that does not support ODBC connections.<\/li>\n<li>When using\u00a0<strong>Shipping Export Templates<\/strong>, specify the full path and name of the text file that contains the exported shipping information. \u00a0If DAZzle will be used to ship the order, enter &#8220;DAZzle&#8221; in this field (minus the quotes) for any USPS shipping method.<\/li>\n<li>Use the vertical scroll bar to locate any shipping methods that are not visible when this screen is initially opened.
