  2. Go to\u00a0Main Menu>Manage My Inventory>View and Manage My Inventory<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. Select\u00a0Add\u00a0<\/strong>to create a “blank” item record that you can fill in to create a new product in your inventory database.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

Enter a unique value in the\u00a0Local SKU<\/strong>\u00a0field.\u00a0A\u00a0Local SKU<\/strong>\u00a0is the part number you use to refer to an item in your store or stores.\u00a0SKUs can include letters, numerals, spaces, underscores (_) and dashes (-). We do not recommend using other punctuation marks. In particular, they must not include quotes (\u201d), apostrophes (\u2019), commas (,) and semicolons (;).SKUs are limited to 250 characters in length however; many places in the program can only display about 40 characters, so think small!<\/li>\n
    2. Enter a value in the\u00a0Item Name<\/strong>\u00a0field.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      2. Select\u00a0Add Primary Supplier<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        1. Pick a primary supplier of the product from the list.<\/li>\n
        2. Enter your supplier’s SKU for the item or select\u00a0Local SKU<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0Item Name<\/strong>\u00a0to use one of those as the supplier SKU.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Note<\/strong>:\u00a0<\/i>Because an item can have more than one supplier, an item can have more than one Supplier’s SKU. If you wish, you can use a Supplier’s SKU as the Local SKU.<\/i><\/p>\n

          1. Enter a value in the\u00a0Unit Cost<\/strong>\u00a0field.<\/li>\n
          2. Enter additional information in the remaining fields, as appropriate.<\/li>\n
          3. Select the\u00a0Miscellaneous\u00a0<\/i>tab and enter product dimension information in\u00a0Length,\u00a0Width,\u00a0and Height<\/strong>. Having this information available can help minimize costs for Ground shipments through UPS and FedEx.<\/li>\n
