The\u00a0Hold Order (F3)<\/strong> Hot Key puts POS orders on hold temporarily. For example, if a customer initiates an order purchase, but can’t complete the transaction immediately, you can put that order on Hold and proceed with the next customer’s transaction. Orders on Hold can then be recalled to the POS by clicking the Recall Order (F4)<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n

Note<\/strong>: POS orders placed on temporary Hold can only be recalled on the computer where they were entered and on the same day on which they were entered. \u00a0Orders left on temporary Hold beyond the date they were entered are discarded by the program.<\/p>\n

  1. Add line items. There are five ways to add line items:\n
      \n
    1. Select items on the Hot Keys<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n
    2. Scan the barcode<\/strong> on the item.<\/li>\n
    3. Type a SKU the abbreviation for Stock Keeping Unit<\/em>; a unique identifier used to track product inventory<\/span>\u00a0in the\u00a0SKU\u00a0<\/strong>field and press\u00a0Enter\u00a0<\/strong>on the keyboard.<\/li>\n
    4. Type a barcode in the\u00a0Barcode\u00a0<\/strong>field and press\u00a0Enter\u00a0<\/strong>or\u00a0Tab\u00a0<\/strong>on the keyboard.<\/li>\n
    5. Perform a product search by clicking\u00a0Prod. Lookup<\/strong>\u00a0or pressing the\u00a0F6\u00a0<\/strong>key on the keyboard.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    6. Select the\u00a0Hold Order<\/strong>\u00a0function key or press\u00a0F3\u00a0<\/strong>on the keyboard.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

The flag\u00a0ORDERS ON HOLD!<\/span>\u00a0appears in\u00a0red<\/span> in the upper left hand corner of the POS<\/strong> screen synonymous with the Microsoft Access Form object or graphical user interface (GUI)<\/span>\u00a0to remind the user that an order (or orders) are on hold at that workstation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
