{"id":2862,"date":"2023-01-15T11:05:56","date_gmt":"2023-01-15T11:05:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stoneedge.com\/kb\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=2862"},"modified":"2026-02-25T15:03:28","modified_gmt":"2026-02-25T15:03:28","slug":"7-7xx-standard-shipping-process-step-by-step","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/stoneedge.com\/kb\/articles\/7-7xx-standard-shipping-process-step-by-step\/","title":{"rendered":"Standard Shipping Process Step by Step"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Overview<\/h2>\n<p>This guide will walk you thru packing and shipping within Stone Edge&#8217;s integrated pack and ship system.<\/p>\n<h2>Prerequisites<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Requires Shipping API Key\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stoneedge.com\/ship\/\">Stone Edge Shipping API and Postage Meter Application Form &#8211; Stone Edge Technologies<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Shipping settings are configured, including:\n<ul>\n<li>Company Ship From Address.<\/li>\n<li>Shipping Services.<\/li>\n<li>Rate to ship method Mapping.<\/li>\n<li>Hardware attached and formatted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Orders are approved from the &#8220;Process Orders&#8221; screen or on import.<\/li>\n<li>System Parameters (if planning to scan order numbers).\n<ul>\n<li>ShowBarcodesOnPackingSlips = True.<\/li>\n<li>ShowBarcodesOnInvoices = True.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Using Shipping and Packing<\/h2>\n<h3>Navigation to Shipping Screen<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Main Menu.<\/li>\n<li>Ship My Orders &gt; Ship My Orders.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Select an Order<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Search View\n<ul>\n<li>Type the order number in the search box.<\/li>\n<li>Or scan an order&#8217;s barcode while on the shipping screen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>List View\n<ul>\n<li>Click the order number from the list.<\/li>\n<li>Type the order number in the search box in the top left-hand corner.<\/li>\n<li>Use filters on the left to filter by shipping method and cart.<\/li>\n<li>Scan an order&#8217;s barcode while on the shipping screen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Pack an Order<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Note: <\/strong>Only if &#8220;Save Pack Data&#8221; is toggled. Otherwise, go to the next section.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2865 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/stoneedge.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Packed-by-Field.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"324\" height=\"51\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stoneedge.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Packed-by-Field.png 324w, https:\/\/stoneedge.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Packed-by-Field-300x47.png 300w, https:\/\/stoneedge.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Packed-by-Field-50x8.png 50w, https:\/\/stoneedge.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Packed-by-Field-60x9.png 60w, https:\/\/stoneedge.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Packed-by-Field-100x16.png 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 324px) 100vw, 324px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Thru Manual Entry<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Select the item you wish to pack.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Change the numeric value in the using the up or down arrows on the screen or the number pad on the keyboard<\/li>\n<li>Click &#8220;Pack It&#8221; to pack the specific quantity.\n<ol>\n<li>Click &#8220;Pack All&#8221; to pack the entire quantity of the current item.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Repeat for all items in the box.\n<ol>\n<li>Click &#8220;Close Box&#8221; then &#8220;Next box, same order&#8221; if using multiple boxes for one order.\n<ol>\n<li>A shipping label will need to be printed for each box.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Using a Scanner<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Scan items in order -&gt; enter a numeric amount for multiples of an item.\n<ol>\n<li>Each item will populate in the packing UI.<\/li>\n<li>Items not in order will give an alert.<\/li>\n<li>Too many of the required items scanned will give an alert.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Continue scanning until all items in the order have been scanned.<\/li>\n<li>When all items are scanned will be prompted to Scan Order barcode.\n<ol>\n<li>Click &#8220;Close Box&#8221; then &#8220;Next box, same order&#8221; if using multiple boxes for one order.\n<ol>\n<li>Shipping labels will need to be printed for each box.<\/li>\n<li>Order barcodes can be scanned to close a box if all items are not scanned.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Creating a Shipping Label<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>In the &#8220;Shipping&#8221; section on the right-hand side.<\/li>\n<li>Confirm &#8220;Ship Date&#8221; -&gt; date must match the day package goes out to be mailed.<\/li>\n<li>Enter weight in lbs\/oz if not defined.\n<ol>\n<li>If a scale is connected, click\u00a0 \u00a0to weigh the package.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Enter the box dimensions.\n<ol>\n<li>Use the &#8220;Box&#8221; dropdown if predefined boxes exist.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Check the &#8220;Ship To&#8221; address.\n<ol>\n<li>Click \u00fc to validate the address.<\/li>\n<li>Click the pencil icon to edit the address (address can only be edited on the &#8220;Process Orders&#8221; screen on an unapproved order due to expected tax changes).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Click the magnifying glass to the right of &#8220;Service&#8221; or the P next to &#8220;Rate&#8221; to rate shop.\n<ol>\n<li>Rates will be based on the order&#8217;s chosen shipping method in the bottom left corner.<\/li>\n<li>Once the rate shopping is finished, use the dropdown to see all results.<\/li>\n<li>Click \u25cf\u25cf to rate shop using all available shipping services.<\/li>\n<li>The &#8220;Package&#8221; dropdown can be used to define a specific package type before rate shop -&gt; may affect rates. (e.g., USPS flat rate).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Optional: Enter a declared &#8220;Value&#8221; for the package if not defined (can be manually changed).\n<ol>\n<li>&#8220;Insurance&#8221; may automatically be enabled based on settings (can be manually toggled).<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Signature&#8221; may automatically change based on settings (can be manually changed).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Click the printer icon to print a shipping label.\n<ol>\n<li>S &amp; H may be added if enabled\/defined in shipping settings.<\/li>\n<li>In Transit will be listed based on chosen service.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Overview This guide will walk you thru packing and shipping within Stone Edge&#8217;s integrated pack and ship system.
