Apply a Percent Off Item Discount<\/h3>\n

Note:\u00a0You must enter the percent discount\u00a0before<\/u>\u00a0the item has been added to the order.<\/p>\n

  1. Enter the value to be deducted from the item on the\u00a0Key Pad<\/strong> tab. It can be a percentage or a dollar amount. In the example below, a 15% discount will be given for the item.\"\"<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
      \n
    1. Click Discount<\/strong>. The Select a Discount Type<\/strong> dialog box opens:\"\"<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
        \n
      1. Click\u00a0Percent Off Item<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      2. The POS and Sale Information section of the screen in the top-left indicates that a 15% discount will be applied.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
          \n
        1. Add an item to the order and the discount is applied.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Note:\u00a0The discount will NOT be applied to subsequent items, unless the process outlined above is repeated.<\/p>\n

          Apply a Dollar Off Item Discount<\/h3>\n

          Note:\u00a0You must apply the dollar amount discount\u00a0BEFORE<\/u>\u00a0an item has been added to the order.<\/p>\n

          1. Enter the dollar amount of the discount on the\u00a0Key Pad<\/strong> tab. In this example, $10 will be deducted from the price of the item:\"\"<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
              \n
            1. Click\u00a0Discount<\/strong>.\u00a0The\u00a0Select a Discount Type<\/strong>\u00a0dialog box opens:\"\"<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
                \n
              1. Click\u00a0Dollars Off ITEM<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
              2. The POS and Sale Information section of the screen in the top-left indicates that a $10.00 discount will be applied to the next line item that is added to the order.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
                  \n
                1. Add an item to the order and the discount is applied.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                  Note:\u00a0The discount will NOT be applied to subsequent items, unless the process outlined above is repeated.<\/p>\n

                  Quantity Discounts<\/h3>\n

                  Note:\u00a0See\u00a0Quantity Pricing<\/i>\u00a0for instructions on how to set up SKUs to be discounted depending on how many units the customer purchases.<\/p>\n

                  1. BEFORE adding any items to the transaction, enter the number of items the customer wishes to purchase on the\u00a0Keypad\u00a0tab.\"\"<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                    1. Click\u00a0Quantity<\/strong>. The screen shows the quantity of the item that will be added to the transaction.

                      1. Add the item to the transaction.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                        If Price Levels<\/strong> are Enabled:<\/p>\n

                        1. Click\u00a0Cust. Lookup<\/strong>\u00a0function hot key or press\u00a0F5\u00a0<\/strong>on your keyboard.<\/li>\n
                        2. Select a price level from the drop-down list.\"\"<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                          1. Click\u00a0Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
                          2. Enter the quantity on the\u00a0Keypad\u00a0tab.<\/li>\n
                          3. Click\u00a0Quantity<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
                          4. Add the item to the transaction.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
                            Price levels are typically used for repeat customers in which case, follow the steps below:<\/h5>\n

                            1. Click\u00a0Cust. Lookup<\/strong>\u00a0function hot key or press\u00a0F5<\/strong>\u00a0on your keyboard.<\/li>\n
                            2. Click\u00a0Search\u00a0<\/strong>on the\u00a0Customer Entry<\/strong>\u00a0dialog box.<\/li>\n
                            3. Enter your search criteria and click\u00a0Begin Search<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
                            4. Select the appropriate customer record.<\/li>\n
                            5. Click\u00a0OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
                            6. Select a\u00a0Price Level.<\/li>\n
                            7. Click\u00a0Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
                            8. Enter the quantity on the\u00a0Keypad\u00a0tab.<\/li>\n
                            9. Click\u00a0Quantity<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
                            10. Add the item to the transaction.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
