Overview

Prepare to transfer data from QuickBooks to Monsoon Order Manager

There are two methods of transferring data from QuickBooks to Monsoon Order Manager.

Choose one of the following:

Direct transfer method

  1. Go to Main Menu>Setting>Data Functions>Accounting Export Setup.

  2. Select Edit Settings on the Account Import tab.

  3. Select the Folder icon to navigate to the location of the company data file (.qbw). It must be the same path that QuickBooks uses to access the company data file. Select OK.

  4. Select Save on the Accounting Export Setup screen, select OK.

  5. You can now use the Import Products or Customers from QuickBooks feature.

.iif file transfer method

  1. Open QuickBooks.

  2. Go to File>Utilities>Export>Lists to IIF File> and select Customer Lists or Items List.

  3. Choose the location where you want to save the .iif file.

  4. Close QuickBooks.

  5. You can now use the Import Products or Customers from QuickBooks feature.

Import product or customer records from QuickBooks into Monsoon Order Manager

From the Setup Guide

  1. Select the Import Data tab of the Setup Guide.

  2. Select Customers or Inventory and then select QuickBooks.

  3. The Import Data from QuickBooks dialog box opens:

  1. Select Import Customers or Import Inventory Items. If you are importing products, you can not import QOH information here, only SKUs.

  2. The system displays the Import from which file? dialog box:

  1. Select Yes to browse to the location of the .iif file. Select No to browse to the location of the QuickBooks data (.qbw) file.

  2. Once you have located the file, import will begin. The program shows a summary of the results when the import is finished.

  3. Select OK.

  4. Repeat steps 2 - 9 to import the other type of records from QuickBooks, if desired.

  5. Select Close and continue importing other data types through the Setup Guide.

From the Store Setup Wizard:

  1. Select the Import Products, etc. option and select the Import Products or Customers from QuickBooks button. The Import Data from QuickBooks dialog box opens:

  1. Choose one of the following two options:

    1. If you choose to import customers, you must select whether to Start by Deleting All Customers (this does not apply if you are a new Monsoon Order Manager user). If you do, all existing customer records in your database are deleted before the new records are imported. Select Import Customers to begin the import process.

    2. If you choose to import inventory, select whether to Start by Deleting All Inventory Items (this does not apply if you are a new Monsoon Order Manager user). If you do, all existing product records are deleted before the new products records are imported. You can no longer import QOH information at this screen, just SKUs. Select Import Inventory Items to begin the import process.

  1. The system displays the Import from which file? dialog box:

  1. Select Yes to browse to the location of the .iif file. Select No to browse to the location of the QuickBooks data (.qbw) file.

  2. Once you have selected the file, import begins. The program shows a summary of the results when the process is finished.

  3. Select OK.

  4. Review the results by going to Main Menu>Manage My Inventory>View and Manage My Inventory or Main Menu>Manage My Customers>View and Manage My Customers.
