Overview

If a workstation has a PC modem (Windows compatible) installed, Monsoon Order Manager can dial customer or supplier phone numbers by selecting the at certain screens.

This feature uses the Microsoft Phone Dialer included with most versions of Windows.

Basic requirements

• A Windows-compatible modem and its drivers must be installed in the workstation.

• A telephone compatible with the modem must be plugged into the correct port on the modem (line out).

• The modem must be connected to the wall jack of the telephone line (line in).

• Microsoft Windows must be properly configured:

• 1. 1. Go to the Windows Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Phone and Modem.

     2. Make sure that the area code, dialing rules, etc. are configured properly for your environment.

     3. Refer to Windows Help for more information.

• In Monsoon Order Manager, go to the Set System Parameters screen. Select the Communications parameter group. Configure the following parameters as appropriate for your environment:

• 1. 1. ShowPhoneButtons

     2. DialUse1Prefix

     3. UseDialingRules

     4. Dial9

Making a call from Monsoon Order Manager

1. Select in a phone number field on the Process Orders, Customers or Suppliers screens.

2. Select the small telephone icon  which dials the phone number.

3. The Microsoft Phone Dialer dialog opens and displays the status of the call.

4. Use the telephone handset attached to the workstation to communicate with the other party.
