Questions
Can I still
use an Access store data file with OMS ?Yes. You
can still use an Access store data file, however, the Payment Module’s
database must be an SQL database. For ease of maintenance, you might want
to consider converting your store data file to SQL.
Can I use an
existing store data file with OMS
Version 7.1?Yes, but the credit card
data must be "cleansed" first. A data migration utility is provided
for that purpose. It both cleanses cardholder data in the existing store
data file and transfers recent transaction history to the new Payment
Module database.
Can I run the
Payment Module with Version 5.9 and become PCI
compliant?
Do I have to
install the Payment Module on each workstation?Yes. Each
workstation where Stone Edge is installed must also have the Payment Module
installed on it, although the databases used by each application can be
shared by all workstations in your configuration.
Do I need to
purchase a server? No. You can install SQL Express
on a workstation, rather than purchasing a costly server. Be sure to select a unit that has adequate system
resources (processor speed, RAM, etc.) as well as one that is not already
supporting a heavy workload. This workstation must be accessible to all
other workstations running OMS .
Do I need to
buy a license for SQL Server? Not necessarily.
If you have a smaller-sized business, you can use the free edition, SQL
Express.
If you already have SQL Server for your OMS
store data file, you can use the same instance for both applications.
Do I need to
install SQL or SQL Express on every workstation that runs OMS
and the Payment Module?
Do I need separate
User IDs for both Stone Edge and the Payment Module?Yes, each
application has its own authentication system, so you will need a separate
UserID for each. For added security, it is recommended that you do not
use the same UserID and password combination for both systems.
Does the Payment
Module have to be open in order for OMS
to process a payment? No. However, you are prompted
to sign-in with Payment Module credentials when you first try to process
a payment. You may also be prompted later, if there is a period of inactivity
and the Payment Module times the session out. According to PCI requirements,
15 minutes is the longest acceptable period of session inactivity before
the session is timed our. You can change it to be a shorter time, but
you cannot make it a longer period of time.
How much does
the Payment Module cost? The Payment Module is provided
free of charge along with your purchase of OMS
Version 7.1.
If I am already
running AuthNet do we need to change anything to use the Payment Module?
If I am running
Version 5.9, do I have to upgrade to Version 7.0 before upgrading to V7.1?
Is PCCharge
supported in V7.1?
What is tokenization?Tokenization
is the process by which a payment processor provides the merchant with
a unique identifier or “token” which can be used in place of full cardholder
data (Account #, Expiry, CVV,
etc.) to process a payment.
Some payment processors utilize the Transaction ID as a token.
What if my
shopping cart is not supported in V7.1?
What are the
requirements for creating and maintaining passwords in the Payment Module?
Will I still
be able to enter payment information manually? (Purchase Orders, Checks,
traditional PayPal payments)
Will secondary
purchases or payments for backordered items be able to be processed using
a TransactionID?
