Transfer Inventory - Simple

Overview

When viewing the product inventory record of a multi-unit SKU or one of its components, the Transfer Inventory - Simple screen is used to build or break down lots between the associated SKUs.
For instance, you may sell Pepsi by the individual bottle and also by the case. The SKU of the individual bottle (Single Unit SKU) can be defined as a component of the Multi-Unit SKU that represents the case. If you have plenty of "cases" in stock, but need individual bottles to sell, you can logically transfer the inventory from the Multi-Unit SKU to the Single Unit SKU.
The Transfer Inventory - Simple screen is a "lite" version of the Transfer Inventory screen and is accessed via:

Main Menu > Manage My Inventory > View & Manage My Inventory > Item > Adjust QOH >Transfer Inventory

The Transfer Inventory button is only visible when a Multi-Unit SKU or a component of a Multi-Unit SKU is viewed.

the fields in this section are inactive (grayed out) when a component of a Multi-Unit SKU is currently viewed

select a Multi-Unit SKU from the list and the Qty on Hand field and Item Name field are populated with information from the product inventory record

auto-populated with the # on Hand value in the selected SKU's product inventory record

the value of the Item Name field from the selected SKU's product inventory record is automatically populated in this field

auto-populated with the # on Hand value in the currently viewed SKU's product inventory record

the value of the Item Name field from the currently viewed SKU's product inventory record is automatically populated in this field

the fields in this section are not visible when a Multi-Unit SKU is currently viewed

the value of the Item Name field from the currently viewed SKU's product inventory record is automatically populated in this field

Select the Multi-Unit SKU to build from the drop-down list.
The program populates the Qty on Hand field and the adjacent, unlabeled text field with the Item Name value from the product inventory record.
The Lot Quantity field is also populated with the number of lots currently built, or "on hand".
The program also calculates the maximum number of lots that can be built from the current QOH of the Selected SKU and enters that into the Max Build field.
Enter the number of lots to build in the Number of Lots to Make field.
Click the Build button.

when a Multi-Unit SKU is viewed the process varies slightly in that the Multi-Unit SKU fields are not active and the Single Unit SKU fields are automatically populated
follow steps 3-6

Select the Multi-Unit SKU to build from the drop-down list.

Enter the number of lots to break in the Number of Lots to Break Down field.
Click the Break button.
