Sub-SKU Options

Overview

• The Sub-SKU the abbreviation for Stock Keeping Unit; a unique identifier used to track product inventory Options screen synonymous with the Microsoft Access Form object or graphical user interface (GUI) is accessed via Main Menu>Settings>Inventory Functions> Build Sub-SKUs. This is where the user can have SEOM create sub-SKUs for all possible combinations of all products and their attributes (options) at once, instead of building sub-SKUs on a product-by-product basis at the View Inventory screen.

• Building sub-SKUs for products enables the program to track inventory at the attribute Product attributes are color, size, or style, etc. An attribute can have various options or variants from which the customer can choose, such as Large or Extra Large for the size attribute, or Blue or Green for the color attribute. The base product SKU combined with each of the possible options for each attribute create a sub-SKU record in Monsoon OMS's inventory. Sub-SKUs are important for tracking the accurate quantity on hand for a particular item rather than the general product level, rather than at the product level. For example, if you sell crew neck T-shirts, which come in several colors and sizes, it is preferable to know how many of each size and color combination are in stock, rather than simply knowing that you have 10 crew neck shirts in stock.

• Some shopping cart an e-commerce software system that allows a retailer to sell products on the Web. In the context of Monsoon OMS, it refers to the settings that describe a merchant's web store to the program, allowing it communicate with the online shopping cart and import orders and other information systems create sub-SKUs at their site and therefore it is not necessary to have SEOM build them. If your shopping cart system does not use sub-SKUs, use this screen to have SEOM create them. If you do not wish to build sub-SKUs for all products, go to Main Menu>Manage My Inventory>View& Manage My Inventory>Attributes & Options tab and use the Build Sub-SKUs for this Item link to create sub-SKUs for individual products.

Create Sub-SKUs for: Section

• these radio buttons limit the scope of the building sub-SKUs process; choose one:

• 1. All option list entries  - build sub-SKUs for all products that have an Option one of the possible attributes of a product; for example, blue is an option for the color attribute of a product List or Lists

     Just products marked as "Parent SKUs" - build sub-SKUs only for those products that are marked as parent SKUs

Build Sub-SKU's Button

• after making a selection in the Create Sub-SKUs for: section, select to "left-click" the mouse on an object, usually a row in a table, in the context of Monsoon OMS documentation this button to begin the process of building sub-SKUs

Cancel Button

• select this to exit the Sub-SKU Options screen without building sub-SKUs
