Stone Edge Hangs during Upgrade

Problem

The upgrade script runs for quite some time before the program seems to hang and issues various error messages.

Symptom

The program may issue the following errors:

• At pass through: Error = 3146 Application-define or object-defined error

followed by:

• Error in ErrorTrap code! Error = 3127: The INSERT INTO statement contains the following unknown field name" 'USER'. Make sure you have typed the name correctly, and try the operation gain.

or:

• At Startup: Error = 3146: ODBC - call failed

The user is asked to login to SEOM, the process will run for a while and the same messages may appear repetitively.

There is no confirmation of a successful completion, but the Log-In screen synonymous with the Microsoft Access Form object or graphical user interface (GUI) may appear.

When attempting to login, the Error in ErrorTrap message described above may be issued, or "At CheckTables: Error = 91: Object variable of With block variable not set" may be encountered.

Cause

ODBC Timeout errors are occurring during the upgrade process, preventing the upgrade script from successfully completing the conversion of the data file.

Solution

Set system parameter SQLServerODBCTimeout to a number significantly higher than the default value of 60.

• Any Enterprise Edition, when using an SQL store data file the MS Access or SQL database that contains the users order information and program preferences. It does not contain Reports, which are housed in the Monsoon OMS program file (MS Access database)..
