Process Orders: Custom

Overview

• At the top of the Accordion in the left-hand pane there are three small tabsMenu, List, Search which change the content of the Accordion itself.

  

   

• Select to "left-click" the mouse on an object, usually a row in a table, in the context of Monsoon OMS documentation the List Tab to produce a list of orders matching the current Quick Filter Pre-defined queries provided with the program which are used to produce a limited group of orders that match the set of criteria specified in the query. The names of the Quick Filters generally reflect their criteria, for example, Orders On Hold produces a list of orders that are currently in Hold status., or choose the Search Tab to look for orders based on criteria entered by the user. Select the Menu Tab to return to the default view of the Accordion.

• The remaining tabs change the contents of the right-hand pane and reveal a list of other related screens to view or actions to be performed. For example, select the Custom Tab to reveal a list of relevant operations within the Accordion and view Custom Order Fields in the right-hand pane.

  Notes electronic records, for internal use only, that contain additional details about program events, actions or customer information that are stored with order, customer, inventory and supplier records. Notes can be entered manually by the user or automatically entered by the program, based on parameter settings in some cases.

• To access this screen synonymous with the Microsoft Access Form object or graphical user interface (GUI):

Main Menu Accordion>Process My Orders>View and Process My Orders>Custom

Main Menu>What would you like to do?>Process My Orders>View and Process My Orders>Custom

• In the images above, we see that both Custom Order Fields and Custom (Order) Detail Fields, have been defined, as indicated by the  links in the left-most portion of the right-hand pane.
• Click these links to toggle the information displayed between either type of order-related custom fields. This can also be accomplished by using the links of the same name on the Accordion.
• Additionally, we see a custom order field called My Custom Text Field, and a custom detail field named Cust. Order Details Field, either of which could be populated with a text value imported from a shopping cart an e-commerce software system that allows a retailer to sell products on the Web. In the context of Monsoon OMS, it refers to the settings that describe a merchant's web store to the program, allowing it communicate with the online shopping cart and import orders and other information or one that was manually entered by the user.

Custom Accordion Operations

Send Email

• opens a screen where the user can manually compose an email message or select a pre-defined email template to generate the email text

Hide Kit Parts

• click this link to toggle between showing or not showing kit parts in the line item individual products listed on an order details of the order

Custom Order Fields

• click this link to display custom order fields in the right-hand pane

Custom Detail Fields

• click this link to display custom order detail fields in the right-hand pane

Custom Order Fields

• shows any custom order fields that have been defined

Edit Button

• click this button to make changes to the contents of the custom fields on this tab

Save Button

• when changes have been made to the contents of the custom fields on this tab, click this button to retain the changes and exit Edit mode

Cancel Button  

• click this button to abandon changes made to the data contained in the custom fields and exit Edit mode (before the Save button has been used)

Custom Detail Fields

SKU

•  the SKU the abbreviation for Stock Keeping Unit; a unique identifier used to track product inventory column contains the stock keeping unit of the line items on the current order

Custom Order Details Field

• this sample custom detail field is defined as a text field

• the user could enter their own data to associate with the SKUs in the current order, or it could also contain data from a check-out field at the shopping cart, depending on the capabilities of the cart   

Locked Button

• click this button to retain the changes that have been made to the data contained in the custom fields and leave Edit mode

• be advised that there is no "Cancel" function on this tab - only way to put the record back the way it was before changes were made is to manually alter the values to their original state

UnLocked Button

• click this button to make changes to the data that is contained in the custom fields on this tab
