POS Layaway Function

1. Add line items. There are five ways to add line items:

   1. Select to "left-click" the mouse on an object, usually a row in a table, in the context of Monsoon OMS documentation items on the Hot Keys tab.

   2. Scan the barcode on the item.

   3. Type a SKU the abbreviation for Stock Keeping Unit; a unique identifier used to track product inventory in the SKU field and press Enter on the keyboard.

   4. Type a barcode in the Barcode field and press Enter or Tab on the keyboard.

   5. Perform a product search by clicking Prod. Lookup  or pressing the F6 key on the keyboard.

2. Select Special Order or press F7 on the keyboard.

3. Click Layaway.

4. The Order is Layaway? confirmation message box opens. Click Yes.

5. If the order does not meet the minimum layaway amount, the program displays a message to that effect. Click OK and do one of the following:

   1. add more items to the sale

   2. place the transaction on hold  (Hold Order function key, or F3 on the keyboard)

   3. cancel the transaction (Void Clear function button or F9 on the keyboard)

6. Optional: Enter a partial payment.

   1. Select the Keypad tab.

   2. Enter payment.

   3. The Add additional payment? dialog box opens.

   4. Click No to save the order and enter a new transaction.

7. Give the receipt to the customer.
