Overview

Programming and testing the Honeywell (Metrologic) Voyager 1202g USB Barcode Scanner

  1. Download the Honeywell (Metrologic) Voyager 1202g User Guide.

  2. Print and scan the code for the type of interface the scanner will emulate. See the chapter, Programming the Interface.

  3. Print pages 96-97 and 220-221 on a high quality printer.

  4. Decide whether to add the prefix and suffix information to all symbologies, or just the Code128 and UPC-A symbologies. (If you do not use the scanner for other applications, follow the instructions to add the prefix and suffix to all symbologies.)

  5. Execute the appropriate set of instructions below for adding both the prefix and the suffix to all symbologies or just Code128 and UPC-A.

  6. Open Notepad and scan a Sales Receipt or Packing Slip printed through SEOM to confirm the scanner is configured properly (~~~####/)

  7. Open one of the SEOM screens that support the use of barcode scanners, such as the Inventory screen.

  8. Edit a product record and place the cursor in the Barcode field.

  9. Scan the product's UPC, respond to the prompt, and click OK.

  10. You should only see the numbers the barcode represents in the field. (You should not see the prefix and suffix characters).

Add the Prefix to all Symbologies

  1. On page 96, scan the Add Prefix symbol.

  2. On page 220, scan the symbol for 9 (K9K) twice.

  3. On page 220, scan the symbol for 7 (K7K), followed by the symbol for E (KEK), found on page 221.

  4. Repeat step 3 two more times to produce the prefix of three tildes (~~~).

  5. Scan the symbol for Save (MNUSAV) to complete the process.

Add the Suffix to all Symbologies

  1. On page 97, scan the Add Suffix symbol.
  2. On page 220, scan the symbol for 9 (K9K) twice.
  3. On page 220, scan the symbol for 2 (K2K), followed by the symbol for F (KFK), found on page 221.
  4. Scan the symbol for Save (MNUSAV) to complete the process.

Add the Prefix to the Code128 Symbology

  1. On page 96, scan the Add Prefix symbol.

  2. On page 220, scan the symbol for 6 (K6K), followed by the symbol for A (KAK),also found on page 292.

  3. On page 220, scan the symbol for 7 (K7K), followed by the symbol for E (KEK), found on page 293.

  4. Repeat step 3 two more times to produce the prefix of three tildes (~~~).

  5. Scan the symbol for Save (MNUSAV) to complete the process.

Add the Suffix to the Code128 Symbology

  1. On page 97, scan the Add Suffix symbol.

  2. On page 220, scan the symbol for 6 (K6K), followed by the symbol for A (KAK), found on page 221

  3. On page 220, scan the symbol for 2 (K2K), followed by the symbol for F (KFK), found on page 221.

  4. Scan the symbol for Save (MNUSAV) to complete the process.

Add the Prefix to the UPC-A Symbology

  1. On page 96, scan the Add Prefix symbol.

  2. On page 220, scan the symbol for 6 (K6K), followed by the symbol for A3 (K3K), also found on page 220.

  3. On page 220, scan the symbol for 7 (K7K), followed by the symbol for E (KEK), found on page 221.

  4. Repeat step 3 two more times to produce the prefix of three tildes (~~~).

  5. Scan the symbol for Save (MNUSAV) to complete the process.

Add the Suffix to the UPC-A Symbology

  1. On page 97, scan the Add Suffix symbol.

  2. On page 220, scan the symbol for 6 (K6K), followed by the symbol for A (KAK), found on page 221.

  3. On page 220, scan the symbol for 2 (K2K), followed by the symbol for F (KFK), found on page 221.

  4. Scan the symbol for Save (MNUSAV) to complete the process.
