Barney Stone,
founder and President of Stone Edge Technologies, Inc., built
his first computer from an assortment of kits, traded it in for
an early Apple ][, and hung out with computing pioneers like
Steve Wozniak, Andy Hertzfeld, Bill Budge, and Captain Crunch at
the San Francisco Apple Core. He co-authored a database program
called DB Master and since then he’s made a successful career
out of writing software for small businesses. In 1999, a friend
asked Barney to write a program to help manage his ecommerce
business. That program turned into the Stone Edge Order Manager
and years later, the feature-rich, back-office system has
more than 2,000 users and 14 staff members supporting it. Barney gets
satisfaction out of helping small companies like his own grow.
He doesn’t think he’s as geeky as he sounds, lives in a 200 year
old farmhouse with his wife, Winnie, and in his spare time he
makes artwork from kiln-fired glass. |

Kevin Smith
was the first official employee of Stone Edge Technologies.
Kevin’s hard work has helped make the Order Manager and our
other products what they are today. Between tech support calls,
programming, configuring servers, writing documentation,
training our new employees, a house, a wife, four kids, a dog, a
cat, and one night per week spent playing in a middle-aged rock
band, its no wonder you can't get him on the phone, and if you
do, why he's so darn grumpy...but after a few beers, he turns
into a really nice guy so we keep him around. |

 |
John Frazar,
the second employee to join the staff of Stone Edge
Technologies, plays a significant role in the development
of our products, most importantly the Order Status System and
services utilized by Yahoo!Shopping merchants. John is the son
of a career Army Officer and moved often with his family; by the
time he turned 21, he’d lived in 25 homes and attended 16
schools! He’s lived all over the United States and overseas
although growing up he spent most of his time in the
Southeastern states. John’s passion is aviation. He is an FAA
licensed Private Pilot with experience in skydiving and powered
paragliding. John simply can’t wait until the next time he can
get airborne! |

Mark Setzer
joined Stone Edge Technologies in December, 2003, and was
responsible for Express Setup services and customer training
before becoming one of the primary developers at Stone Edge. In addition to his years of experience supporting the
Order Manager, Mark has developed integrations with several
ecommerce packages like XCart, Cart32, and the osCommerce
family of shopping carts. Currently he develops new web services for Stone Edge merchants
and contributes to the development of the Order Manager program itself.
Mark attended Penn State University and graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy.
He also loves to watch and play competitive sports, especially ice hockey, and is a huge
fan of the local Philadelphia teams. He and his wife Mary live nearby in Blue Bell, PA.

and other critters who call it home. In his spare time, Steve

a no-kill shelter for dogs and cats in Radnor, PA. |

Twenty-six
years after her first programming job,
R. Jessica Jones
joined the Technical Support team in October of 2007. She
began developing database systems and financial applications
for the corporate honchos at Bank of America headquarters in
San Francisco, where her favorite project was shepherding
the introduction of the PC to senior execs (who were
inclined to leave the typing to secretaries). Before that
pin-stripe-suit and Feinstein-bow adventure, she was able to
wear jeans at Levi Strauss while working in DP Training; now
she's blissy to be back in a permanent casual-Friday
workplace. She waxes wistful about the fog though, and about
telecommuting to Apple and BofA from Upcountry Maui, where
she lived before returning to Philadelphia. In her spare
time, Jess likes to nap or to pursue true Waking Up through
the Arican teachings of Ichazo, the practices of Vajrayana
Buddhism, and the company of Quaker Friends.

Sheryl Jorna
joined Stone Edge Technologies in October of 2007. Sheryl graduated
from Eastern College in St. Davids, PA with a B.S. in Biology,
and a double minor in Chemistry and German. After she found
herself competing with PhDs for entry-level laboratory
positions, she decided to switch disciplines and became an IBM MVS Systems Programmer. Having worked for several large
companies in the Delaware Valley, encompassing the disaster
recovery, coal mining, and pharmaceutical industries, she
thought it would be interesting to try something a little
different and came to work for Stone Edge as a Technical Support
Specialist. Sheryl is married with three children and she and her entire
family love to spend time on the water of the Upper Chesapeake
Bay. |

Beth
Gilbert started work as a technical/content writer for Stone
Edge Technologies in January, 2008, a year after returning to
the Philadelphia area from the West Coast. A native of South
Jersey, Beth graduated from Kutztown University with B.A. in
English/Professional Writing and promptly boarded a Greyhound
bus from Philly to LA. After six years that passed like one long
summer, she traded the mellow SoCal lifestyle for the buzz of
the burgeoning Bay Area dot-com industry, where she worked for
two e-commerce start-ups and an online publishing venture.
Wanting to learn more about how it all worked, she found a job
as
a tech writer. Concerned about the loss of her Philly accent,
Beth returned to the East Coast with her husband, Peter and
worked for SAP before joining Stone Edge. She lives in a lovely
old Victorian house with Peter and their cat Figgy in Narberth,
PA.

Fowaz Alnoah
joined Stone Edge Technologies in February, 2008 as a Technical
Support Specialist. His interest in software stretches back to the time
he was first able to reach the keyboard on his father's home computer.
In his free time, Fowaz loves to go to live events of any kind,
especially concerts. Hobbies include watching movies, playing
video games, and traveling. He currently resides in Lafayette
Hill, PA. |
