Store Setup Wizard Accounting Options

Overview

• The Accounting Options section of the Store Setup Wizard contains two pages. The first is where the user to enable the First In First Out ( FIFO (first in first out) method of tracking inventory costs ) method of tracking Cost of Goods.
• The second page is where the user can configure SEOM to export information to a third party accounting software package, such as QuickBooks.
• It is not immediately necessary to enter all of the information to use QuickBooks with SEOM when the program is initially installed. It is possible to return to this section of the Wizard at a later date, or open the Accounting Export Setup screen synonymous with the Microsoft Access Form object or graphical user interface (GUI) from Main Menu>Settings>Data Functions, to complete this feature.

Track your Cost of Goods on a FIFO basis Check Box

• check this box to tell the program that it should track the cost of products at the time that they were received, rather than by the current cost of the product

• sets system parameter TrackInventoryFIFO to TRUE

Initialize FIFO Button

• this button will open the FIFO Setup screen

• choose whether the FIFO data will be obtained from the current Quantity on Hand and Supplier vendor Costs that are already in the system, or if that information will be imported from an MS Access database

• initialize the data based on existing information in the program or import external data to initialize the FIFO

Print a list of required QuickBooks Accounts

• click this button to print a report which lists the account types to be defined in QuickBooks; the report identifies which accounts are required as well as optional accounts that can be used at the merchant's discretion

QuickBooks Setup

• this button opens the Accounting Export Setup screen, where previously defined QuickBooks accounts are mapped to the appropriate account types in SEOM

Navigational Arrows

• use these buttons to scroll sequentially between the pages of the Store Setup Wizard

• use the links in the Wizard Index pane on the left-hand side of the screen to skip between sections of the Wizard

Wizard Section and Page Numbers

• the name of the Wizard section and page number can be found between the Navigational Arrows and the Help, Cancel and Save and Exit buttons at the bottom center section of the screen

• some section have many settings and therefore have more than one page in the Wizard; be sure to review them all

Help Button

• opens the Knowledge Base   

Cancel Button

• causes the program to prompt for confirmation before exiting the Store Setup Wizard

• click Yes to save the changes before exiting the wizard

• click No to abandon the changes and exit the wizard  

• click Cancel to remain at the Store Setup Wizard and continue making changes

Save and Exit Button

• this button saves all changes that have been made before exiting the Store Setup Wizard
