The Order Manager uses hundreds of System Parameters to tailor the program to a merchant's way of doing business.
Each system parameter is associated with a particular parameter group, based on its function. One way of viewing system parameters is to select a specific Parameter Group at the Set System Parameters screen . It is also possible to search for a parameter by entering a portion of its name.
While some parameters could logically belong to more than one parameter group, the program only assigns a parameter to a single group. Be sure to look for other related group names when researching the available parameters for a particular function.
To change a system parameter, go to the Maintenance Menu and double-click [Set System Parameters] from the list of links, or select [System Parameters] from the Quick Clicks on the Main Menu. For instructions, review the Knowledge Base topic Set System Parameters.
This topic describes the parameters that are part of the Purchase Orders parameter group.
Parameter Name |
Comments |
AllowEditPOs |
If TRUE, when viewing an existing Purchase Order, you will be able to edit many of the fields, such as Qty. Ordered, Qty. Received, etc., and add and delete line items. If FALSE, you cannot edit purchase orders once they have been created. |
AlwaysSavePOWork |
If you close the Purchase Orders form without saving new PO's that you are working on, the program will ask if you want to save your work so you can return to finish it later. If this parameter is True, the program will save your work without asking. You can clear it later when you re-open the PO form. |
ForceBalanceOfPOInvoices |
The PO Invoicing System, by default, allows the merchant to enter and post an invoice amount higher than the original PO total. Set this parameter to True to force the user to balance the invoice amount to the amount of the original PO. |
IncludeBackordersDefaultDays |
Enter the number of days the PO system should look back to include backorders (default = 30) when automatically generating purchase orders. |

POCalcMethod |
Determines how Qty to order is calculated when automatically adding items to POs : Order Quantity: If Qty on Hand - Backorders is less than or equal to the reorder point, order the greater of (Backorders - Qty on Hand - Qty on Order) or the Reorder Quantity. Target Quantity: If Qty on Hand - Backorders is less than Target Qty, order enough to get back to Target Qty. Delayed Target: Wait until (Qty on Hand - Backorders) is less than or equal to the Reorder Point, then order enough to get back to the Target Qty. |
POCancelExpectedPullsShipped |
If cancelling an "expected" record for a drop-ship PO from the Purchase Orders screen, the program will reduce the "needed" quantities on the customer's order by the cancelled amount. Should the cancelled amount exceed the needed amount on the item, the remainder can be pulled from the quantity shipped (True) or left as is (False - default) |
POCancelReceivedPullsNeeded |
When cancelling "received" records on drop-ship POs and not converting to expected records, the system will reduce the quantity shipped on the line item in the order. If the quantity shipped is less than the quantity being cancelled, the system will ask the user if the remainder being cancelled should be pulled from the quantity needed (YES) or only reduce the shipped amounts and leave quantity needed as is (NO). |
POCancelReceivedToExpected |
When cancelling "received" records at the PO if set to "Prompt" the user will be asked if they want to convert the received records to expected records. If set to "Yes" then the records are automatically changed from received to expected. If set to "No" Then received records are cancelled. If the item is part of a drop-ship PO, the system will remove "shipped" quantities from the item only if the "No" option is set or chosen. |
