POS Layaway Function

1. Add line items. There are five ways to add line items:

   1. Select to mouse "left-click" on an object, usually a row in a table, in the context of Order Manager documentation items on the Hot Keys tab.

   2. Scan the barcode on the item.

   3. Type a SKU the abbreviation for Stock Keeping Unit; a unique identifier used to track product inventory in the SKU field and press Enter on the keyboard.

   4. Type a barcode in the Barcode field and press Enter or Tab on the keyboard.

   5. Perform a product search by clicking on the Prod. Lookup button or pressing the F6 key.

2. Select Special Order or press F7 on the keyboard.

3. Click on Layaway.

4. The Order is Layaway? confirmation message box opens. Click Yes.

• If the order does not meet the minimum amount, you see the following prompt. Click OK and either add additional items to the sale, place the transaction on hold by clicking the Hold Order function button or pressing F3 on your keyboard, or cancel the transaction by clicking the Void/Clear function button or pressing F9 on your keyboard.

5. Optional: Enter a partial payment.

   1. Select the Key Pad tab.

   2. Enter payment.

   3. The Add additional payment? dialog box opens.

      1. Click No to save the order and enter a new transaction.

6. Give the receipt to the customer.

Note: It is possible to add items to the sale after selecting Special Order and designating the transaction as a Layaway.
