Setting Up an Interspire or BigCommerce Shopping Cart

Overview

Built-in support for Interspire and BigCommerce shopping carts will be available in Order Manager Version 5.913. At that time, it will be possible to perform a direct import of order, customer and product information from an Interspire or BigCommerce shopping cart without the need for a generic shopping cart license. The directions in this article apply only to Order Manager Version 5.913 and greater.

Version 5.912 (and lower) users can import orders from a text file exported from an Interspire cart, if they have purchased a generic shopping cart license for the Order Manager. Refer to the Knowledge Base article entitled, Importing Data from an Interspire Shopping Cart (V5.912 and lower), for more information.

Configure the Shopping Cart

  1. Log in to the Control Panel of the shopping cart.

  2. Choose the Settings link in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.

  1. Copy (Ctrl+C) the portion of the URL after "https://" as shown in the figure below, or make a note of it for use in the next section. For example, in the figure below, copy the following portion of the Script URL field (outlined in red): "mystore.com/accountinggateway.php?action=process&accounting=stoneedge" . When logged in to the administrative section of the cart, the "mystore.com" portion of the URL will reflect the name of your store.

  1. In the Store Name field, enter a name to identify this shopping cart. This name is for internal Order Manager purposes only.

  2. Select Interspire from the Cart Type drop-down list. If the user is only licensed for one shopping cart type the Cart Type drop-down box will not be visible. Go on to the next step.

  3. In the Cart ID/User Name field, enter the user name that is used to log into the Control Panel of the Interspire shopping cart.

  4. In the Cart Password field, enter the password that is used to log into the Administration section of the Interspire shopping cart. Re-enter the password in the Reenter Password field.

  5. Leave the Group and Store Code blank.

  6. Enter the URL that was noted in step 5 of the previous section into the Script URL field.

Note: It is not necessary to include https:// at the beginning of the URL. If it is entered, the Order Manager will remove that prefix when the cart  definition is saved.

  1. The Synchronize Inventory check box will not be active unless system parameter SynchQOH is set to TRUE. Refer to Knowledge Base article, Inventory Synchronization for more information about setting up that feature at a later date.

  2. Click the Save button to create the shopping cart definition. (If changes need to be made to the cart definition in the future, click the Edit Cart button to access the settings.)

  3. The Test Script button will become visible. Click the Test Script URL button to validate the accessibility of the script.

  4. A message box will be displayed to indicate the success or failure of the script test.

    1. A successful test will show a message box stating: "Test passed: Script version: [X.XX]" Note: This test does not validate the username and password, merely the accessibility of the script.

    2. If an error message is displayed, verify the value that was entered in Script URL field exactly matches the URL on the Stone Edge tab of the Stone Edge Order Manager settings at the website.

    3. All connections to the script take place via secure HTTP (https://). If the error message indicates a "404 Not Found" or "Page could not be displayed" error, contact the web host to verify the secure URL and location of the integration script.

  5. Close out of the Shopping Carts form. See the knowledge base pages listed below for information about importing data from the web site, or other related tasks.
