Scales do not work when using the ShipRush ActiveX

Applies to: ShipRush v3 SDK

Issue:

The weight is not pulled from the scale when the custom application

is used. If interactive ShipRush is used the weight is pulled from the scale,

but from the custom application it is not.

Background:

This problem will only be seen if the scale was configured using interactive

ShipRush. If the scale is configured by invoking ShipRush settings from the

custom application, the scale should work.

Note: The FIRST step is to get the scale configured and working in Stand Alone

ShipRush.

Workaround:

1) Exit your custom application. (In this case the Stone Edge Order Manager.)

2) Find the ShipRush program directory. By default this is:

   "C:\Program Files\Z-Firm LLC\ShipRush v3\"

3) In this directory, find all the .ini files. There will be one file

that starts with TZF and then has the scale name. For example, for

   Fairbanks scales the file is:

        TZFFairbanksScale.ini

4) Copy this file to your application program EXE directory. If using

Visual Basic, .NET, C++ or other compiled tool, this will be the

directory where your application .exe resides.

If using Microsoft Office, Access, or other run time tool, this will

be the directory of the 'host' .exe. For example, for Microsoft Access 2003

   the directory is: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\"

5) Start your application. Test for proper operation.

This issue is a defect in ShipRush v3 and will be corrected in a future version.
