Fulfillment and Header Templates

Fulfillment templates and header templates are used for sending fulfillment orders via text file. They can also be used for sending drop-ship purchase orders using text files.

Fulfillment Templates

You can have as many fulfillment templates as you wish. Each fulfillment center can have its own template or several centers can share the same templates. Each template can export up to 40 fields.

Create or Edit Fulfillment Templates

1.       Access the Fulfillment Templates dialog box one of two ways:

a.       Click the View Export Templates button in the upper-right hand corner of the Fulfillment Centers dialog box. (Go to the Main Menu>Maintenance Menu>Shipping & Fulfillment tab>Fulfillment Centers button.)

b.       Go to the Main Menu>Maintenance Menu>Shipping & Fulfillment tab>Fulfillment Templates button.

2.       To create a new template, click the New button. Enter a name for the template.

3.       To modify an existing template, click on the Select template drop down list and click on a template name.

4.       Select a File Type: Click in either the Comma Delimited (CSV) or Tab Delimited radio button.

5.       If you want the first row of the text file to contain the field names, click in the Include Field Names checkbox.

6.       If Qty Ordered is more than one, click either the output one line or output (Qty Ordered) lines radio button.

a.       Output one line will cause the program to export the total number of pieces ordered on one line in the text file.

b.       Output (Qty Ordered) lines will cause the program to export a line for each order, i.e. if you order 5 pieces for five separate orders, the text file will contain five lines.

7.       Click in the Header Template drop down list to select a template. (See below for more details.)

8.       Click in either the Once per file or For each Order radio button to indicate whether or not you want the program to export the field names with each order.

9.       Use the Field to Export drop down lists and Field Labels text fields to indicate which fields and in what order the program shall export them. You can enter a field label that differs from the field name in the Order Manager. Note that entering a field label is optional; if none is entered, the program will use the field name as the label.

10.   To clear all of your selections in the Field to Export drop down lists and Field Labels text fields, click the Clear All button.

11.   To set all of the Field to Export drop down lists to the defaults, click the Set to Standard Fields button.

12.   You can add columns that are blank or contain the same value for each record.

a.       To add a blank column, select Custom Column from the Field to Export drop down list and enter a field label.

b.       To add a column with the same value for each record, select Custom Column from the Field to Export drop down list. Enter a field label, followed by a comma, then the value you wish to appear in each field, e.g. Drop-ship Charge,Not Applicable.

13.  Click the Save button to save a new template.

14.  To delete an existing template, select a template from the drop down list and then click the Delete button.

15.   To exit the Fulfillment Templates dialog box, click the Close button.

Header Templates

Order Manager versions 3.01 and above allow you to define a "header template" for each fulfillment template. You can use any template you create following the directions above as a header template. The program either inserts one row of column headings into your fulfillment center text file at the beginning (Once per File), or before each row (i.e. each order record) (For Each Order).

Example: Header inserted once per FILE.
